The ABC reboot of the Olympics-style reality show that pitted TV stars against each other in the 70s has an all-star lineup.
One hundred competitors from 14 different network and cable stations will be sweating it out for physical prowess. The roster includes Joey Lawrence of “Blossom;” Kim Fields and Lisa Whelchel from “Facts of Life;” Dave Coulier repping “Full House;” former “Growing Pains” star Tracey Gold; Corbin Bleu from “High School Musical;” Bronson Pinchot of “Perfect Strangers and Jill Whelan anchoring the “The Love Boat” crew.
The original series, which premiered in 1976, had Gabe Kaplan, Telly Savalas and Robert Conrad as the team captains back in the good old days when there were only three networks.
Lynda Carter, Penny Marshall, Ron Howard, Gary Burghoff, Jimmie Walker, Tim Matheson and Melissa Sue Anderson were some of the series’ competitors.
The show, which featured Howard Cosell as the announcer, ran until 1985 and featured competitions such as an obstacle course, bowling, tennis, kayaking, volleyball and golf.
ESPN veterans Mike Greenberg and Joe Tessitore will be co-hosting the reboot.
The show is set to air June 29 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
