Kelly Clarkson Records “American Woman” For A NEW Feminist Drama Series

Kelly Clarkson is putting her own spin on the track “American Woman,” which serves as the theme song for the new Alicia Silverstone series of the same name.

In a behind-the-scenes clip, Kelly is seen recording the song in the studio as she explains the process.

“American Woman” was originally recorded by Canadian rock band The Guess Who as an anti-war protest in 1969 and covered by Lenny Kravitz in 1998.

American Woman, the series, stars Silverstone, Mena Suvari and Jennifer Bartels and centers on the women’s liberation movement of the 1970s. It premieres June 7th.
