f you’re expecting a child, agreeing on a name with your partner can be a tough one. But what if picking one you both like was as simple as finding a match on Tinder?
On the new Babyname app, both parties swipe right on names they like and left on the ones they don’t, on their own cellphones. No more time consuming conversations about names, poring through baby books, or negotiating favorites.
“Finding a name for your baby should be as fun as making it,” co-creator Damjan Pita told AdWeek.
Pita and business partner Derek Evan Harms were inspired by a former colleague who described the lengthy process of making lists of names for their prospective kids.
Each name that pops up on the app comes with a short meaning and origin. If both parties swipe right a hatched egg with a heart inside pops up declaring a match. All matches then go to a shared list of names for your review.
Unfortunantly the app isn’t yet available in New Zealand, but we can’t wait to try it when it lands.
