Technology can now help us pick what clothes to wear, with Amazon introducing a new gadget that helps choose users’ outfits.
The $200 Echo Look — which can also do everything that the Amazon Echo speaker does — has a voice-controlled camera that lets users take full-body photos and videos of themselves to collect and compare outfits.
An app keeps track of different outfits, and there’s a “Style Check” feature lets you choose two photos and have “Alexa” determine which one is better.
It works by using machine-learning technology with what Amazon’s describes as “advice from fashion specialists,” with fit, color, styling, seasons and trends considered.
Amazon wouldn’t say who the fashion specialists are, or whether they judge users directly or just tell software what looks good.
