One of the Self-Lacing Shoes from Back to the Future II Sold for Nearly $100,000

The left shoe of Marty McFly’s self-lacing Nike Air Mags from Back to the Future Part 2 has been sold for nearly $100,000.

Per the BBC News, the vintage movie-worn shoe received 220 eBay bids before being sold for $92,100 / £70,143. It could’ve only been picked up from Portland, Oregon due to its disintegrating condition, as the shoe probably would not have withstood transportation via courier.

McFly tries out these shoes when he travels to a futuristic 2015. They feature the power lace, a blue-flecked foam sole, LED lights in the heel, and a glowing Nike logo on the strap.

All of the money raised will go to Michael J. Fox’s foundation for Parkinson’s research, which Fox launched after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991.
