In 2013, Stephen King released Doctor Sleep, the sequel to his 1977 book, The Shining.
In a nutshell…Danny Torrance is grown up and is still dealing with his “gift”. Not to mention he’s starting to mimic his dad’s anger. And alcoholism.
And now, it’s about time to turn Doctor Sleep into a movie.
Thrilled to say that DOCTOR SLEEP is moving forward! In theaters in 2020! https://t.co/99yDYphssg

Ewan McGregor has been tapped for the role. Meanwhile, the director, Mike Flanagan, has already adapted King’s Gerald’s Game for Netflix.
Don’t expect Doctor Sleep until (at least) 2020.
