Our own Sean (Dilly) Dilworth is hosting a “swab party” this Wednesday (July 19th) from 12-2 PM at Canadian Blood Services to help add names to the stem cell registry. It was 6 years ago that Dilly’s journey started as he was hoping to a stem cell match for his cousin and a friend, who at the time who were both battling very rare forms of cancer. His mom’s friend, Sheila was able to find her match, but sadly his cousin Neil Dilworth passed away at the very young age of 43. Neil was a father, a husband and a dedicated member of the RCMP and his life was cut far too short because of cancer and not being able to find a match to potentially save his life.
Dilly did up saving a life a year later as he explains…
