Members of the Winnipeg arts community are coming together to support Ukrainian refugee families who are now calling Winnipeg home. A fundraiser is being organized to help the families settle in and start their new life. The event will feature music, food, and a silent auction. All proceeds from the event will go towards helping the families with the costs of relocating to Winnipeg, including rent, food, and other basic necessities.
Had a chance to talk with fundraiser co-organizer, Paula Potosky about how it came about and how you can help.
“We believe that every person deserves a safe and welcoming home,” Paula Potosky.
Tickets for the all-age event can only be purchased in advance here for $15 each. You can also buy support tickets for any amount if you can’t make it, but still want to donate. The fundraiser takes place March 31 at Norberry-Glenlee Community Centre, 26 Molgat Avenue.
