Victor W. Butler is believed to be one of the last surviving Tuskegee Airmen. They were a group of Black military pilots and airmen who made history while fighting in World War II. They broke down barriers and led the way to desegregation in the U.S. Military. Butler almost joined the Canadian Airforce with a friend, but his parents wouldn’t approve. Victor became a mechanic for the Tuskegee Airmen, working on legendary planes while dealing with racism. Victor turns 100 May 21/2022 and his wish is birthday cards! “Oh, I’ll read every one of them,” said Butler.
