As we watch the flood waters in our area, the provincial Government has launched a “Disaster Financial Assistance” program to help with flood-related damages to infrastructure, private residences, farms and small businesses. You should check with your insurance provider to review your policy coverage before applying. Some insurance costs, such as sewer backup, aren’t covered by the provincial program. The program will also help with verified livestock losses and other uninsurable losses to basic and essential property. (As the video was a from a live news conference, just scroll to the spot you see Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Doyle Piwniuk.)
