Take advantage this weekend as Manitobans can visit any of the province’s parks free of charge, and can also fish without a licence. Before going to any of the MB Parks, check the area as staff continue to monitor the flood situations closely, assess conditions daily and co-ordinate with many agencies.
All park visitors should check www.manitoba511.ca for road closures and potential detours before travelling to parks. Park visitors are reminded to obey road and trail closures and not attempt to drive through flooded areas or across damaged bridges
There’s more info below on each parks advisories and campground closures. Check trail closures here. Closures may be extended if flooding and wet conditions continue. Reservation holders and seasonal campers will be contacted and their fees refunded if their campsite is affected by a closure. Campers should not pre-emptively cancel reservations before being notified of a site closure, otherwise cancellation policies will apply.

PR 307 from the Seven Sisters entrance at the north end of the park eastward to Nutimik Lake is open to LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY to allow access to residences, cottages or businesses. Campgrounds and trails in the northern Whiteshell remain closed. Areas of single lane traffic with sufficient visibility will be controlled by ‘yield to oncoming traffic’ signage. Be advised that cottage subdivision roads may be in poor condition or flooded and caution is advised.
The closure and evacuation order will remain for the Betula Lake area, due to flood waters that continue to make access points and local roads impassable. No person shall reside in or enter the Betula Lake closure area. The closure area continues to apply to the cottage subdivision, commercial areas, campgrounds, group use, day use, recreational and picnic areas, playgrounds, trails and beaches in and around Betula Lake.
Additionally, all backcountry campsites remain closed in Whiteshell Provincial Park, along with multiple trails, including the Mantario Trail.
Campground infrastructure including electrical, water and wastewater systems will be assessed as flood water recede and repairs may be required before reopening for camping. Details on the next phase of the reopening plan are expected to be finalized and communicated in the coming weeks.
