I couldn’t last 78 HOURS never mind 78 DAYS, but one Manitoba did it to win a reality show! Juan Pablo Quiñonez, an outdoor survival specialist grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico, but now lives in Pinawa, about 130 kilometres east of Winnipeg. He was the last person standing out of 10 contestants to win the of the wilderness survival game show “Alone.”
Before the show, Quiñonez spent 100 days in the forest during wintertime honing skills and gaining weight by a drinking a gallon of milk and 350 millilitres of olive oil every day to build up his body’s fat reserves. Good thing cause he went on to lose 70 pounds.
More on Juan’s journey.
