Proud mom Melissa Hrynenko let me know about an amazing program that helped her son find a place to grow and feel welcomed. Her son was bullied and struggled with making friends, wasn’t sporty and felt like he didn’t fit in anywhere. But thanks to Sea Cadets summer camps, which have different bases all over Canada, that all changed. He got to meet new people, learn new skills and find a purpose and at NOT cost to families. Melissa’s daughter is now in the program following in her brothers footsteps. 🙂 The 350 Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps Transcona branch meets on Tuesdays for general training at Ecole Central School in Transcona and anyone is welcome to come and see what it is all about. There is also band and guard meetings/trainings on Thursdays. There is a marksmanship training coming up too. Coming up on March 4, 2023 it’s their 10th annual Spaghetti dinner fundraiser. The goal is $5000 to help with the cost of equipment and more. They also have room for sponsorships and could use some silent auction items. If you’d like to help please call Augustina Harker – Board President 204-962-7083 or email president.transcona@mbnavyleague.ca They also have a Facebook page that anyone can join for more information.
Get tickets at the Transcona Legion Dinner goes from 6:30pm to 9pm. Tickets are now available at the bar for $10 per person. Everyone is welcome!
