The fatal collision just outside of Dryden, Ontario last Friday (April 21/23) was so bad, it caused a 10 hour closure and involved two cars and a truck. Sadly, the two victims were siblings, Callie and Evan Joseph. Their parents Serena and Cal were also involved in the accident, but were released from the hospital that day. Both Callie and Even were avid minor hockey players and Winnipeg Jets fans and were supposed attend a playoff game. There’s been a massive outpouring of support and grief from the hockey community. The family of 4 were travelling to Thunder Bay for a hockey tournie, which did go on, but teams donated the prize money to the Josephs. Several other teams also donated. Go fund me was put together and the campaign exceed it’s goal of $35,000 in less than one day.
As the hockey world and beyond continues to mourn the loss of Callie and Evan Joseph, their legacy will continue to inspire future generations of hockey players. Rest in peace, Callie and Evan Joseph.
